Experience has shown that CP helmets, due to their design and the use of superior materials, offer the best possible protection against head injuries. However, even the best helmet cannot one hundred percent prevent traumatic injuries (traumatic brain injuries) if, in the event of an impact or fall, the obstacle does not hit the helmet axially, but off-axis. The force that causes the brain to "spin" increases the risk of a traumatic brain injury. Central elements here are two separate polystyrene helmet shells. These are connected by three gel pads. Originally developed for medical applications, the gel material possesses properties that are optimally suited for use in providing enhanced protection in ski helmets during a fall or collision. The gel pads remain permanently elastic in both heat and cold. They feature the shape memory of a solid – meaning they always return to their original form after an event. In the event of a blow to the helmet shell, the force can be absorbed and deflected in all directions. A shock-absorbing, glass-fiber reinforced 360° polyurethane band provides additional protection for the forehead and temples.

Hard-shell helmets
The hard-shell helmet consists of
a thicker, durable ABS for the outer shell. This is bonded with
a lightweight polystyrene lining. The result is a
very safe helmet: impact-resistant on the outside, shock-absorbing and
insulating on the inside. CP hard-shell helmets are among the lightest on the
market.

In-mold helmets
The Inmold helmet has its
origins in cycling. It consists of a relatively thin
polycarbonate outer shell. Inside the shell is a
polystyrene lining, which absorbs impacts (in the event of a collision or fall)
by collapsing. The polycarbonate outer shell and the
foamed polystyrene are bonded together in a single process under high pressure and
heat. The result is a one-piece, very
lightweight helmet that perfectly meets everyday requirements and keeps the price
low.

Hybrid helmets
The hybrid helmet
combines the advantages of hard-shell and in-mold helmets: a hard
shell made of ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) for maximum
protection and an in-mold component for high stability and low
weight, without compromising wearing comfort.
